Aloe Vera Powder
Aloe vera is also known as the miracle plant. From its leaf pulp, a gel and aloe vera powder is obtained that can help with a wide variety of skin diseases and is even able to promote wound healing and soothe sunburn. Responsible for the effect are ingredients such as amino acids, mono- and polysaccharides and salicylic acid. These have an analgesic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect. The D-isomer mucopolysaccharide acemannan, which is also found in the leaves of aloe vera, is of particular importance. It has very good antiviral, immunostimulant, gastrointestinal and antineoplastic properties. Of particular medical interest is the fact that acemannan is able to activate immune messengers such as interleukin 1. Acemannan has been used for some time in dogs and cats for the treatment of fibrosarcomas. As has already been shown, administration increases tumor necrosis.
But what exactly distinguishes the aloe vera powder?
As a long-chain proteoglycan, acemannan consists of a central protein building block and a long-chain sugar molecule. Proteoglycans have the task of binding human cells together. They provide stability in the cellular system by combining not only with collagen, but also with hyaluronic acid. Interestingly, our body is able to produce the substance itself up to the age of teenagers or puberty. After that, we only have the option of taking it in with our food. Relatively large quantities are found in ginseng, Siberian taiga root and aloe vera. The acemannan contained in aloe vera powder is also called aloverose. Both terms describe the same ingredient. The acemannan content in the aloe vera powder is considered an important quality factor and serves as a quasi proof of the effectiveness of the corresponding product.
But what kind of effectiveness are we actually talking about here?
In a study conducted several years ago, Chinese scientists found that acemannan promotes wound healing by rapidly activating cell proliferation. Their conclusion: Wound treatment with acemannan could certainly be an interesting therapeutic approach for skin wounds. In 2017, researchers from Chile found in another study that acemannan also has prebiotic capabilities and can thus positively influence the intestinal environment. To ensure that an aloe vera powder has the highest possible acemannan content, it is important that the plant is processed quickly and gently after harvesting. In addition, the plant should be able to grow under optimal climatic conditions. This means cool winter months and hot summer months. The seasonal temperature differences effectively stimulate the production of the active ingredients in the plant. However, an incorrect manufacturing process can destroy the contents. Drying processes cause the acemannan content to decrease rapidly: by as much as 40 percent. High-quality aloe vera powders contain at least 1200 milligrams per liter. Reputable suppliers of aloe vera powders can provide certificates that prove the acemannan content.
Together with our partner AMB Wellness, we at Cosmacon offer highly concentrated standardized aloe vera powders with aloverose.
Aloe Acetypol Powder 15/20 is an innovative powder development produced by a special process. The acemannan contained in the inner gel of the plant is isolated by a micro-filtering process. This allows concentrations of up to 20 percent, measured by ortho-acetyl.
As an immunomodulatory active ingredient, acemannan has an optimal molecular weight distribution. The active ingredient can help toxins flow out of the cells more easily and nutrients can penetrate the cells better in return. Thanks to its high effectiveness, it makes the aloe vera powder ideal for sophisticated high-end cosmetics.
